The cluster case where cooling fan covers can be installed is JDUO 4C, which is made and sold by Joontech.

To improve the cooling performance of the JDUO 4C, we tried to install a cooling fan HAT, so there was a limit to selecting a cooling fan of various thicknesses due to the narrow gap between the CPU of the Raspberry Pi and the cooling fan.

When configuring a cluster computer with JDUO 4C and cooling fan cover, noise generated by the operation of multiple cooling fans seems inevitable.

After much consideration, we decided to leave the cooling fan’s choice to customers because using a noiseless cooling fan can solve the problem of noise generation.

Therefore, the package of the cooling fan cover does not include a cooling fan, but only a screw is included to mount the cooling fan on the cooling fan cover.

Types of Cooling Fan Cover

There are two types of cooling fan covers. One is a cluster cooling fan cover layered between cases when configuring a cluster and the other is a final cooling fan cover layered on the uppermost layer.

If you put the final cooling fan cover on the case of JDUO 4C, it will consist of a single type.

The cooling fan size that can be mounted on the cooling fan cover is 30×30(mm) and the height is 7-10(mm).

If you configure a cluster computer, you will inevitably be exposed to noise due to a large number of cooling fans, but customers who are sensitive to noise should choose a noiseless cooling fan or reduce the air volume as much as possible.

After inserting a cluster cooling fan cover between the cases of the JDUO 4C, the final cooling fan cover may be stacked on the uppermost layer of the case.

If you configure a cluster computer with 4 nodes, you will need 4 cases of JDUO 4C, 3 cluster cooling fan covers, and 1 final cooling fan cover.

Interference may occur between the heat sink and the cooling fan when layering the cooling fan cover and the case, so if the heat sink is attached to the semiconductor chip located right behind the raspberry pie CPU and the CPU, it should be removed.

When configuring a cluster computer, the height is somewhat increased due to the additional cooling fan cover, but the overall balance is not disturbed, so it is not as incongruous as before.
