This time, we modified JDUO 4C, a cluster case of Joontech.

These days, the Raspberry Pi product line is not limited to prior development, but it seems that it is increasingly being put into the production line to control equipment or commercialize it at all.

It’s proof that it’s expanding its use in various fields.

Case with Raspberry Pi 4 Model B and PoE HAT

It is difficult to obtain PoE HAT with the launch of PoE+ HAT, but unlike PoE HAT, the cooling fan position of PoE+ HAT is largely skewed to the right, not just above the CPU of the Raspberry Pi 4 model B.

As a result, it is difficult to directly cool the CPU, so if PoE+ HAT and Raspberry Pi 4 Model B are accommodated together in the case, high heat generation will stop the operation.

For this reason, Joontech did not develop a case that accommodates PoE+ HAT and Raspberry Pi 4 Model B together.

Fortunately, the client chose PoE HAT to avoid problems caused by fever.

Looking at the structure, first, insert a 40-pin dual header (Male) into the Raspberry Pi’s GPIO port and a 4-pin dual header (Male) into the PoE power supply pin.

Then, the Raspberry Pi is seated on the case and fastened using a screw and a PCB support (Female).

Next, plug the PoE HAT into the two dual headers (Male).

At this time, when the bottom surface of the PoE HAT and the PCB support (Female) come into contact with each other, screw it and fix it.

Finally, put the cover on the case and screw it in the front of the case to finish the assembly.

The structure mentioned above has the advantage of reducing the size of the case.

The client was also able to produce it on its own, but it was difficult to reduce the size of the case.

As the size of the case increases, the quantity that can be mounted on the inspection equipment decreases, and the reliability of the inspection decreases.

We think Raspberry Pi is recognized for its performance and reliability to the extent that it is not unreasonable to use in the field.

Of course, in order to expand its use in the field, there must be a mountain to overcome: reinforcement of power supply design and changes in storage systems, but it is true that board design has improved completeness compared to the beginning.
